Festival “Zalumballe” is back – after a one-year break and with new awesome home in Beibezi on the shores of Misa River! This year’s festival will offer a great variety of music on 5 different stages - Estrade, Pit, Acoustic Barn. Mash Up and Discotheque. Besides these stages there will also be “Dirty Deal Cafe” with their cultural program and theater, “VETO Magazine” tent, Eastern Nook, chill-out video tent, folksy field sports, graffiti area and a market place.
ESTRADE stage will host bands that have proven themselves over the years to a wide range of listeners. Furthermore, Zalumballe 2009 will proudly present the return of a very well known local band that has been out of the public eye for a while now, but it’ll be kept as a surprise! THE PIT will bring joy to everyone that loves mud, metal and punk rock. Acoustic artists will perform a tuneful music in ACOUSTIC BARN. In between these performances The Barn will transform into a Leeside with more relaxing music (chill-out, dub, reggae) .Tea House “Goija” will be located here as well, offering relaxing teas and guarana drinks to keep audience fresh and awake at all times. RHYTHM/MASH UP HALL stage will be taken over by the Rhythm Institute DJ’s and others, “Rhythm Institute Jam” will mix it up with a lot of different styles – from funk, hip-hop, jazz and dub step to mashup and electronic music. A graffiti/painting wall will be located next to this stage for all “Wall Artists”, note, that spray paints, brushes and colors will not be provided. DISCOTHEQUE tent will be represented by very loved and acclaimed DJ’s and musical variety promises an adventurous ride from the far away past to the not so far away - future. “Dirty Deal Cafe” will host cultural events including theatre, photo, poem and other art related events and workshops. "Veto Magazine" tent will have their own program of DJ sets and different performances; all-day sports activities and olympic computer games.
The festival will also have “Eko Loko” Market – a market place where artists will display and sell their own work - from jewelry, unique furniture to paintings and fashion.Latvian arts and design store www.mo.lv will offer special design t-shirts and jewelry to the festival attendees..
Daya Yoga Studio will offer everyone to take part in "Urban Yoga" class! Teacher Natalija has been doing yoga since she was twelve."Urban Yoga" was chosen for this festival because it is very attractive and fun, it's perfect for modern youth! There will be elements of acrobatic, power and couple yoga - which develop understanding, loyalty and empathy with people around you.
A great variety of food won’t leave guests hungry - Eastern Nook with natural and healthy Vaishnava food, bar “Draugiem” with full bar and traditional snacks (hot dogs, pizzas, fries etc); “Sviestmaizu Studija” will make fresh hot sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs (both classical and vegetarian).
The Tent City will be located in the heart of the Festival. There will be bonfires in the festival area, so it’s highly recommended to bring some logs or coal. Shores of Misa River will be transformed into pleasant beach area. A couple of sandy grounds for all those wanting to play beach volleyball. The use of the open grass field space is left up to guests - whether it’s badminton, Frisbee or any other outdoor activity. But there will be an organized obstacle course where everyone can try out their strength.
Also there will be non-governmental organizations represented in the festival with info stands, events and promotions. The confirmed list includes “Papardes Zieds” Youth Group, “Jaunatne pret AIDS”(Youth against AIDS) as well as organizations with information on volunteering opportunities in Europe, exchange studies abroad, Loesje posters and a lot more.
Tickets for the whole 3 days will cost only 13 Euros (9 Lats). Tickets are already available at www.bilesuserviss.lv / bilietupasaulis.lt / www.piletilevi.ee. First 200 ticket buyers will receive free festival and “VETO Magazine” souvenirs (pin buttons etc.) as well as promotional materials from festival bands and artists (CD’s, stickers etc.). 1st, 50th, 100th and 150th ticket holder will receive a special present – a T-shirt or a bag from Latvian arts and design store www.mo.lv, but every 15th pre-sale ticket from the first 200 will get an album from band Astro’n’out.
Rules and Regulations:
- No glass containers, no drugs, no weapons of any kind and no flammable substances in the festival area.
- It is absolutely prohibited for minors to use alcohol or any other illegal substance. In such cases festival organizers and security reserve the right to ask guest to leave the festival area.
- Read and follow the signs, rules, and regulations and respect the borders of the festival.
- Keep the Festival area clean – throw all the garbage in specially designated trashcans and make sure every one else does the same.
- Any wrongdoing and damage done to the Festival will be punished under the corresponding laws. Be respectful to other guests.
- Cars need to be parked in the designated areas, following the signs of the organizers.
- The organizers of the festival don’t take any material or moral responsibility over any loses and damaged goods. Every guest is personally responsible for himself and his belongings.
- Festival as well as its guests is to abide by all social norms and regulations.
- Minors under 16 must have a grown up accompanying them and a written statement that shows it.
- By entering the Festival area, you agree on all rules and regulations of the Festival.
